Technical Sales Engineer – Electrical Engineering

Function

As a Technical Sales Engineer in Electrical Engineering, you will be the technical and commercial point of contact for your clients. You will further develop existing client relationships, create new opportunities and translate technical requirements into concrete solutions and quotations.

As an Electrical Engineering Technical Sales Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining and further developing commercial relationships with existing customers.
• Actively establishing new contacts and identifying commercial opportunities.
• Proactively advising clients on future electrical engineering projects.
• Conducting technical discussions to gain a clear understanding of clients’ requirements and specifications.
• Developing technical concepts and solutions tailored to the customer’s needs.
• Working alongside experienced Project Engineers and Project Managers on more complex technical issues.
• Carrying out price calculations and drawing up technically sound quotations.
• Commercial follow-up on quotations that have been issued.
• Conducting price and contract negotiations with customers.
• Monitoring customer satisfaction whilst projects are being carried out.
• Carrying out financial post-project analyses of completed projects.
• Assessing the financial performance of projects in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Working closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers and other Technical Sales Engineers.
• Keeping abreast of new technologies and developments in electrical engineering.
• Helping to shape the commercial and technical strategy for the further development of the business.

Profile

For this role as a Technical Sales Engineer in Electrical Engineering, we are looking for someone who can combine technical knowledge with commercial persuasiveness. You have a good understanding of electrical installations and are able to discuss these with both technical specialists and customers.

As a Technical Sales Engineer in Electrical Engineering, you will recognise yourself in the following profile:

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical subject, or have equivalent experience.
• You have a strong interest in and knowledge of electrical engineering.
• You combine technical insight with a commercial mindset.
• You have excellent communication skills and find it easy to make new contacts.
• You thrive on interacting with customers and developing business opportunities.
• You are able to translate technical requirements into concrete solutions and proposals.
• You’re a skilled negotiator.
• You have good organisational and administrative skills.
• You work with precision and have an eye for quality and detail.
• You are able to interpret architectural drawings, electrical diagrams and P&IDs.
• Proficiency in Dutch is an absolute must for this role.
• You can express yourself well in English and get by in French.
• You have a driving licence B.
