Site Manager

Function

As site manager you’ll be helping to steer challenging civil engineering projects in Brussels and the surrounding area. You will translate the site schedule into efficient day-to-day operations, whilst ensuring quality, timing, safety and budget are maintained. In this role, you will work closely with project management, subcontractors, suppliers and our own site teams to ensure that every project runs smoothly and professionally.

You will have a varied role with a great deal of responsibility and scope to work independently. You will closely monitor progress on site, identify bottlenecks in good time and ensure clear communication between all parties involved. Thanks to your hands-on approach and organisational skills, the work will remain structured and manageable, even as the complexity on site increases.

Your main duties and responsibilities are:

• Day-to-day monitoring and coordination of site activities
• Drawing up and monitoring the implementation plan
• Managing workers, subcontractors and external partners
• Monitoring quality, safety and progress on site
• Identifying technical or organisational problems and actively proposing solutions
• Monitoring material flows, deliveries and site administration
• Reporting to the project management team on the current status, risks and any necessary adjustments
• Contributing to a safe, orderly and efficient working environment

You’ll be working in an environment where collaboration, technical expertise and meticulous execution are key. We work on high-impact projects, where your role will directly contribute to the success of the entire construction process.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an experienced site manager with 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience within the construction industry, preferably in civil engineering or a similar technical environment. You are someone who brings structure to the site, communicates effectively and, at the same time, has sufficient decision-making authority to maintain an overview and adapt quickly when necessary.

We are looking for a candidate who excels at organising, monitoring and managing people. You are able to interpret technical plans and site instructions correctly, remain calm under pressure and work meticulously to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met. A hands-on approach and a visible presence on site are essential.

Your profile:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture, civil engineering or equivalent through experience
• Experience as a site manager, assistant site manager or in a similar role
• Extensive knowledge of site organisation, planning and monitoring of works
• Effective communication with various stakeholders, such as workers, subcontractors and project management
• A hands-on approach and a solution-oriented mindset
• An eye for quality, safety and detail
• Fluent in Dutch; knowledge of French is an advantage in this region
• In possession of a driving licence B

An affinity for complex construction projects and a keen interest in civil engineering are key assets for success in this role.
