Maritime Engineering Manager workshop

Function

As Superintendent Workshops, you will be responsible for the operational management of various technical workshops and teams. You combine people management with technical follow-up, safety, quality and customer orientation.

Your duties will include:

• Staff management
  • Helping support recruitment processes in cooperation with HR and management
  • Evaluating training needs and supporting talent development
  • Coordinating work and staff planning across departments
  • Translating strategy and operational objectives to the teams
  • Coaching, motivating and directing Workshop Managers and technicians
• Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
  • Carrying out and supervising risk analyses within workshops
  • Ensuring compliance with safety procedures and preventive measures
  • Actively contribute to safety awareness within the organisation
  • Monitoring KPIs and implementing improvement actions
  • Participate in incident investigations and safety inspections
• Customer and contract management
  • Conduct operational consultations with customers and stakeholders
  • Preparation and follow-up of price offers
  • Monitoring contractual agreements and scope management
  • Preparation of quotations for additional work outside contract
• Quality & continuous improvement
  • Collaborating on quality plans and quality assurance
  • Regular checking of work carried out
  • Active participation in thinking about optimisation and continuous improvement of processes
• Purchasing & supplier management
  • Supporting purchasing processes and market research
  • Follow-up of offers and supplier performance
  • Evaluating strategic suppliers

You will report directly to the Site Manager and play a key role in the day-to-day operational functioning of the organisation.

Profile

• Industrial engineer or marine engineer (electromechanics, electrical or mechanical engineering)
• At least 3 years' experience within maritime services, ship maintenance or technical services
• Strong leadership qualities and experience in people management
• Strong communicative and organisational skills
• Commercially minded and solution-oriented
• Affinity with technical and digital systems
• Good knowledge of MS Office and MS Project
• In possession of a driving licence B
• Excellent knowledge of Dutch and practical knowledge of French and English
