Accountant

Function

As Accountant You will be responsible for a wide and varied range of accounting tasks. You will work closely with your colleagues in the finance department and help to ensure that the financial records are accurate and efficient.

Your responsibilities will include, amongst other things:

• Handling the accounts from A to Y, including support with the year-end closing.
• Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Carrying out reconciliations and checks on general ledger accounts.
• Processing purchase, sales and financial transactions.
• Helping to ensure compliance with tax and accounting obligations.
• Actively contributing ideas on the optimisation and digitalisation of financial processes.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners such as auditors.

Profile

You are a meticulous accountant who enjoys taking the initiative and assuming responsibility.

In addition, you should recognise yourself in as many of the points below as possible:

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accountancy and Taxation or a similar field.
• You have 3 to 5 years’ experience in an accounting role.
• You have a good knowledge of Belgian accounting and VAT regulations.
• You work in an analytical, structured and meticulous manner.
• You take ownership of your cases.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Excel. Experience with MS Dynamics would be a real asset.
• You work independently, but also function extremely well as part of a team.
• You are fluent in Dutch. Knowledge of French and/or English is an advantage.
