Accountant / Controller

Function

As an Accountant / Controller, you are an indispensable part of our client’s financial operations. You combine accountancy and management accounting with strong analytical skills. Thanks to your meticulous monitoring and critical eye, financial processes continue to run efficiently and projects are completed in a financially sound manner.

Your duties will include:

• (Initially) Processing and checking purchase and sales invoices, expense claims and expenditure
• Preparing for audits and acting as the point of contact for the external accountant.
• Monitoring general ledger accounts and ensuring the year-end closing process runs smoothly.
• To play an active part in ensuring a healthy cash flow and financial stability.
• Reviewing all financial matters following the completion of a project.
• Carry out financial evaluations of completed projects and analyse deviations.
• Reporting to management and drawing up proposals to further improve processes.

Over time, the role will evolve from the accounting side to a full-time management accounting role, with a say at management level.

Profile

For this vacancy, we are looking for someone who takes the initiative and is keen to contribute ideas on how to improve processes.

You possess:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a field related to economics.
• Extensive experience in accounting, finance, management accounting or auditing.
• An excellent knowledge of Dutch.
• A good command of French; knowledge of English or other languages would be an advantage.
• A strong knowledge of Excel and an affinity for ERP systems; experience with AI applications is an added bonus.
• A critical, meticulous and solution-oriented approach.
• A desire to take on responsibility within a growing SME.
