Accounts Clerk (Supplier Accounts)
Function
You will ensure that incoming invoices are processed correctly, on time and in accordance with the relevant accounting rules.
Specifically:
- You will process and post incoming purchase invoices.
- You check invoices against the corresponding order forms.
- Is something wrong? If so, please contact the relevant internal department or supplier yourself to resolve the issue.
- You will ensure that general and analytical accounting entries are processed correctly.
- You ensure that costs are allocated to the correct period, cost account and cost centre.
- You apply the correct VAT rules.
- You keep supplier details up to date in the ERP system.
- You’ll work alongside various internal departments to ensure invoices are processed efficiently.
- You will liaise directly with suppliers as and when necessary.
- You’ll help to come up with ideas on how to make the administrative process for purchase invoices even more efficient and accurate.
So you don’t just end up with a pile of invoices on your desk. You monitor the entire process and actively look for solutions when something isn’t quite right.
Profile
For this role, we are looking for someone who enjoys working with precision, but who also takes sufficient initiative to tackle matters independently.
- You work in a structured, accurate and organised manner.
- You are interested in bookkeeping and financial administration.
- You’re keen to learn and pick up new information quickly.
- You will take responsibility for your own files and tasks.
- You have excellent communication skills and feel at ease when interacting with colleagues and suppliers.
- You have a problem-solving mindset and take the initiative to identify the cause when something isn’t quite right.
- You’re a go-getter and don’t just leave a case to one side.
- You have a good knowledge of French.
- You are proficient in using the standard MS Office programmes.
- Experience in an accounting environment is an advantage.
- Have you worked with an ERP system before? If so, you’ve got an extra asset on your side.
So, a specific qualification or years of experience in accounts payable is not the only thing that counts. The right attitude, attention to detail and a keen desire to learn the job are at least as important.
Organisation
You will be joining a growing organisation involved in a range of technical and infrastructure projects. Behind these projects is a large team of colleagues, and this naturally includes a strong finance and administration department.
As part of the supplier accounts team, you’ll work alongside colleagues who support one another and share their knowledge. You’ll receive thorough training when you start and will be introduced to the various processes step by step.
The organisation combines the structure and capabilities of a larger player with open communication and a flat organisational structure. Entrepreneurship and initiative are valued, and you’ll be given the opportunity to develop yourself further.
Offer
You will be offered a role in which you can further develop your accounting skills whilst gaining a good understanding of the financial administration of a large organisation.
On top of that, you can count on:
- An attractive salary package, tailored to your experience.
- Meal vouchers.
- Eco-vouchers.
- Group insurance.
- Hospitalisation insurance.
- An end-of-year bonus.
- A purchasing power allowance.
- Thorough training and support as you get started.
- Your own training centre for your ongoing professional development.
- A family-like working environment with short lines of communication.
- A team where collaboration is key.
- Various informal occasions, such as an annual summer event and a New Year’s reception.
