Assistant Accountant A-Y

Function

You will provide comprehensive support for the accounts from A to Y and ensure that everything is processed correctly and on time.

• Booking of purchase and sales invoices
• Processing financial transactions
• Preparing and filing VAT returns
• Support with month-end closing procedures
• Monitoring multiple entities (including international ones)
• Basic credit control and customer follow-up
• Ad hoc support in finance and administration

You will work closely with the chief accountant and be given the opportunity to take on more responsibility step by step.

Profile

You’ll feel at home in an SME environment where you’re involved in a wide range of activities.

• First experience in accountancy
• Good with figures and works with great attention to detail
• Calm, organised and reliable
• Hands-on approach and takes responsibility
• A team player with a healthy dose of maturity
• Language skills: Dutch + basic French/English (any additional languages would be an advantage)
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g. AFAS) is an advantage, but not essential

Organisation

You’ll be joining a West Flemish company with international operations (including Europe and Asia). The company has around 30 employees and fosters a no-nonsense culture. No silos, but short lines of communication and direct dialogue. The combination of local roots and a global focus creates an interesting dynamic within the finance department.
