Assistant Production Manager

Function

As Assistant Production Manager, you will act as the Production Manager’s right-hand person and play a key role in the day-to-day organisation of production. You are responsible for drawing up and monitoring the production and capacity schedules, coordinating staff and materials, and ensuring that production runs efficiently and in accordance with high quality and safety standards.

In addition, you will coach operators and shift supervisors, and you will continuously contribute to improving processes by applying Lean principles, 5S and other methodologies. You will also monitor the operation of machinery and equipment, and act as a point of contact for technical issues in collaboration with the maintenance department. You will have the opportunity to lead a workshop where people and technology work together to achieve the best results.

Your responsibilities:

• Drawing up and monitoring effective production and capacity plans
• Coordinating staff, machinery and material flows
• Leading production teams and helping to create a positive working atmosphere
• Minimising downtime through rapid communication with technical services
• Ensuring compliance with quality, safety and operational procedures
• Identifying and initiating improvements to production processes
• Supporting stock and materials management

Profile

For this managerial role, we are looking for:

• At least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent through experience in a technical field (electromechanics, mechanics, industrial sciences, or equivalent)
• At least 2 to 3 years’ relevant work experience as a team leader, supervisor or production planner within a manufacturing company or factory
• Experience in production planning, workshop organisation and capacity management
• Strong interpersonal skills and a coaching, motivational leadership style
• Organisational skills and a solution-focused approach
• Experience with Lean, 5S or continuous improvement is an advantage
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Navision
• Excellent command of Dutch
