Building Automation Engineer

Function

As a Building Automation Engineer, you are a strategic link in the complete management of advanced automation projects at a specific customer in the Antwerp region. You will be responsible for the process from concept development to commissioning, with a strong focus on electricity, instrumentation and special techniques such as fire detection, intrusion prevention and CCTV systems.

Your duties will include:

• Translating electrical requirements into detailed engineering designs that comply with all standards and regulations.
• Managing contractors and monitoring project budgets.
• Defining and following safety rules in cooperation with construction management and the EHS department.
• Provide technical input within multidisciplinary teams, including HVAC, utilities, and special equipment.
• Managing suppliers for design and commissioning activities.
• Provide second-line support for security systems and keep plans up to date.
• Op ervaren niveau: strategische initiatieven uitvoeren, complexe technische vraagstukken oplossen, teamresources coördineren en kennisoverdracht binnen projecten.

Profile

To succeed in this Building Automation Engineer role, you will possess a combination of technical expertise, proactivity and strong communication skills. Our ideal candidate meets the following requirements:

• Master's degree in engineering sciences, such as industrial engineer or civil engineer.
• Excellent command of both Dutch and English.
• In-depth knowledge of electricity (EN60204) and instrumentation (such as VSD, Profibus, Profinet).
• Experience with PLC/SCADA systems (e.g. S7, WinCC, TIA Portal) is a plus.
• Previous work experience in a GMP environment or pharmaceutical company; familiarity with validation processes and FMEA.
• Excellent technical writing skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and results-oriented attitude.
• Willingness to work shifts or on weekends, if applicable.
