File Manager, consultancy, accountancy firm

Function

As a file manager, you will be assigned to various projects at accountancy firms. The specific nature of your role will be tailored to your experience and the client’s needs.

Your responsibilities will include the following, amongst other things:

• You will manage client files from start to finish.
• You will process and check the accounts.
• You will be responsible for preparing VAT returns.
• You will prepare tax returns, including corporation tax and personal income tax returns.
• You prepare balance sheets and annual accounts.
• You will keep a close eye on the financial administration of your cases.
• You will liaise directly with clients and answer their accounting and tax enquiries.
• You will work alongside the manager and colleagues at the accountancy firm where you are currently based.
• You provide structure and clarity when a client needs extra support.
• You’ll help to come up with more efficient ways of working and processes.
• You will take responsibility for your cases and ensure that agreements and deadlines are met.

As a consultant, you’ll be working with a variety of clients, so the nature of your projects may vary. For example, one project might require a greater focus on end-to-end file management, whilst with another client you might be mainly involved in year-end closings or tax support.

Profile

You already have a solid grounding in accountancy and are ready to put your experience to use in a variety of settings.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has at least two years’ experience working in an accountancy firm.
• Can manage cases independently from start to finish.
• A good understanding of accountancy and taxation.
• Works in a precise and structured manner.
• Takes personal responsibility for the quality and follow-up of cases.
• Communicates effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Is able to adapt quickly to a new working environment.
• Is interested in a variety of clients, sectors and ways of working.
• Picks up new software and working methods quickly.
• Can work independently, but also enjoys being part of a team.
• Holds a Category B driving licence and is willing to travel for various projects.

Your qualification is, of course, a bonus, but it is your practical knowledge, experience and ability to work independently that are most important.

Organisation

You will be joining a consultancy firm specialising in finance, accountancy and legal services. Consultants are deployed to clients who require temporary or long-term support.

For this role, the focus is on accountancy firms in West and East Flanders. You will work as part of the client’s team, take on responsibility and ensure that your experience immediately delivers tangible added value.

At the same time, you’ll remain part of the consultancy team. So you won’t be on your own and will receive support throughout your projects. You’ll get to know various accountancy firms, discover different ways of working and, as a result, gain a broad range of experience in a short space of time.

The projects are tailored to your knowledge, experience and preferences. This means you’ll have a job with plenty of variety, without having to start from scratch every time.
