Function

We are looking for a [position] for a leading logistics company Dispatcher for the region Asse. In this role, you’ll be the driving force behind a smooth daily transport flow: you’ll make adjustments where necessary, keep an eye on the big picture and ensure that drivers, the planning team and customers continue to work together seamlessly, like a well-oiled machine.

Your role is varied and requires a combination of strong organisational skills, quick decision-making and clear communication:

• You optimise routes and allocate transport orders in an efficient and realistic manner.
• You monitor drivers whilst they are on their journeys and react quickly to delays, changes or unexpected situations.
• You are in daily contact with the central planning department in Weiswampach and coordinate priorities flawlessly.
• You handle customer enquiries, capacity requests and operational issues using a solution-focused approach.
• You will monitor the quality of the work carried out and ensure that agreements are adhered to.
• You will work extensively with various digital tools and ensure that records are accurate and up to date.

Profile

We are looking for a dispatcher with 3 to 5 years’ experience in transport or logistics, who feels at ease in a fast-paced environment. You like structure, but don’t panic when plans suddenly take an unexpected turn.

Ideally, your profile should look like this:

• You have proven experience in the transport sector and understand how dispatching works.
• You’re good at setting priorities and can make decisions quickly.
• You are bilingual Dutch-French; English is a bonus.
• You communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, colleagues and customers.
• You are dynamic, resourceful, proactive and responsive when the situation calls for it.
• You can work well with MS Office and other software programmes.
• You’re perfectly at home in front of a screen and can monitor several systems at once without losing track of the big picture.
• You have your own car so you can get to your place of work easily in Asse to move.

A background in logistics planning, operational monitoring or dispatching is a major asset. Above all, we are looking for someone with common sense, a sense of responsibility and a hands-on approach.
