Function

As Forwarder Projects In Antwerp, you will take on a wide-ranging and hands-on role within project-based freight forwarding. You will monitor shipments from start to finish, keep track of deadlines, liaise with all parties involved and ensure that every case is handled correctly, efficiently and with a focus on the customer.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, organising and monitoring project shipments from departure to arrival.
• Confirming appointments and proactively keeping clients informed about the progress of their cases.
• Analysing and selecting the most suitable modes of transport, including sea freight, air freight and road freight.
• Maintaining contact with shipping agencies, hauliers, customers and other operational partners.
• Play an active part in business development and sales activities within your portfolio.
• Be present during loading and unloading operations on the quay.
• Ensuring that all cases are processed correctly, promptly and accurately.
• Identifying bottlenecks and quickly finding an appropriate solution within an operational and commercial context.

You work with precision, think in a cost-conscious and results-oriented way, and contribute to the smooth and professional delivery of services in an environment where quality, timeliness and clear communication are key.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an experienced Forwarder Projects specialist with a solid background in freight forwarding and project cargo. You possess a good balance of operational knowledge, commercial acumen and administrative precision, and you are comfortable in a role involving a great deal of coordination and responsibility.

Your profile:

• You have 5 to 10 years’ relevant experience in project cargo forwarding.
• You have extensive knowledge of sea freight and air freight, as well as an understanding of road freight.
• You are familiar with customs matters and the relevant documentation.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.
• You work in a cost-conscious and results-oriented manner, and contribute ideas with a view to maximising efficiency.
• You handle figures, agreements and operational details with care, and have strong numeracy skills.
• You are able to analyse and resolve problems independently, even when cases are complex or time-sensitive.
• You work meticulously and in a structured manner, with an eye for quality and ensuring tasks are followed up properly.
• You continue to perform professionally under pressure and are able to set priorities in a dynamic environment.
• You are proficient in using computer applications and have excellent telephone and email skills.
