Garage and Call-out Coordinator

Function

As Garage and Breakdown Co-ordinator in Wetteren, you are the central point of contact for vehicles, repairs and breakdown services. You ensure that the fleet of vehicles and machinery remains operational and that the teams out in the field can work efficiently. You combine technical expertise with organisational and administrative skills, and ensure smooth coordination between mechanics, drivers, site management and suppliers.

Your range of tasks:

• Co-ordinating and monitoring repairs, maintenance and breakdown services;
• Set priorities in consultation with the mechanics;
• Monitoring technical files, inspections, licences, OBU registrations and fines;
• Managing fuel vouchers, deliveries and liaising with suppliers;
• Keeping bills of materials and technical data sheets up to date;
• Monitoring orders and administrative files;
• Contributing ideas on more efficient processes, planning and cost optimisation;
• Responding quickly and in a solution-oriented manner to technical problems.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for someone with an interest in technology, organisational skills and a strong administrative approach. Experience in a similar role is an advantage, but candidates with less experience who are suitably motivated will also be considered.

What we expect from you:

• a bachelor’s degree in logistics, engineering or equivalent through experience;
• an interest in vehicles, machinery or a technical environment;
• strong organisational skills and the ability to set priorities quickly;
• a meticulous and independent approach to work;
• good communication skills and the ability to manage people;
• a good knowledge of Dutch and English; French is an advantage;
• willingness to work for around 12 hours a day between 06:00 and 18:00.
• willingness to be contactable by telephone in the event of urgent repairs or call-outs.

Organisation

This family-run business is active in the maintenance and management of public spaces and works exclusively on public sector contracts. Its activities include, amongst other things, green space and road maintenance, motorway mowing, gully clearance, coppice management, street sweeping and night-time tunnel cleaning. The group comprises around 12 operational companies, operating in Flanders and Wallonia across various specialist sectors.
