Function

As HVAC-S Calculator You will convert technical specifications into well-founded and competitive quotations for a wide range of HVAC-S projects. You will contribute to end-to-end projects in the fields of central heating, plumbing, ventilation and cooling, combining a strong grasp of figures with technical acumen and commercial judgement.

In this role, you will take the lead in analysing and preparing project files. You will review specifications, bills of quantities and information provided by clients or engineering firms, and assess them in terms of technical feasibility and potential optimisations. You will work closely with two experienced colleagues and play an active role in ensuring a smooth and high-quality quotation process.

Your duties will include:

• analysing tender documents, plans and technical documents;
• requesting and comparing prices from suppliers and partners;
• the preparation of accurate and market-based cost estimates;
• contributing ideas on alternatives, implementation methods and optimisations;
• following up on quotations sent to customers in a timely and clear manner;
• handing over well-prepared files to the project leaders to ensure a smooth start;
• ensuring quality, feasibility and commercial opportunities in every project.

You are not merely a numbers person, but a substantive sparring partner who helps to secure projects and prepare them to a high technical standard. You work in a structured manner, communicate clearly and maintain a clear overview, even when several projects are running simultaneously.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an experienced a cost estimator with 5 to 10 years’ relevant experience in HVAC-S or a similar technical environment. You are able to take on projects independently and have sufficient technical knowledge not only to calculate quotations correctly, but also to substantiate them in terms of content.

We expect you to be confident, analytical and able to prioritise effectively. You combine accuracy with a pragmatic approach and contribute ideas to find solutions. You feel at ease when dealing with suppliers, customers and colleagues within the organisation.

Your profile:

• you have proven experience as a quantity surveyor, preferably in HVAC, building services or installation works;
• you have strong numerical skills and work with great precision;
• you can analyse technical files on the basis of specifications, bills of quantities and plans;
• you have experience with requesting quotes and comparing commercial proposals;
• you communicate fluently and professionally in Dutch, both verbally and in writing;
• you have a basic knowledge of French and English, which is an advantage;
• you’ll contribute ideas on feasibility, optimisations and conceptual improvements;
• You are keen to learn, independent and results-oriented.

A technical qualification is an asset, but it is above all your experience, insight and maturity that will make the difference in this role.
