International Service Engineer

Function

In this role as an International Service Engineer, you will be involved in the installation, maintenance and optimisation of advanced fire and explosion protection systems for industrial clients in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and, on occasion, further afield in Europe, the US and Asia. You will be part of an experienced service team and will report to the service manager.

Core tasks:

• Carrying out periodic inspections, preventive maintenance and technical checks on industrial installations in accordance with strict procedures and safety standards.
• Identifying and resolving technical faults: you ensure that systems remain safe and operational at all times.
• Installing, testing, commissioning and handing over new security systems; you will also provide practical guidance and training to users and client teams.
• Advising customers on technical optimisations, systematic improvements and the timely replacement of obsolete components.
• Detailed reporting and administrative record-keeping of work carried out.
• The role involves responding flexibly to emergency call-outs, assignments abroad and occasional weekend work; hotel stays (an average of 7 per month) are also part of the job.

Profile

• A technical qualification (in electromechanics, electrical engineering, automation or a similar field) and several years’ experience as a service engineer or in the maintenance of industrial installations.
• A Category B driving licence and no fear of heights.
• VCA certificate or a willingness to obtain one.
• A strong command of Dutch; the ability to switch easily to English (for international colleagues) and certainly no hesitation in communicating in French.
• Strong administrative skills and familiar with digital tools.
• Customer-focused, solution-oriented, cost-conscious, flexible and a true team player.
• Willingness to stay overnight abroad and flexibility regarding working hours.
