Logistics clerk
Function
As a logistics assistant at our client’s site in the Roeselare area, you will receive a varied tasks where logistics, administration, transport and customer contact come together.
Below is a sample of your duties:
- Processing orders and carrying out administrative follow-up
- Searching for, planning and coordinating transport
- Contact hauliers and arrange loading and delivery times
- Get quotes and compare transport prices
- Monitor carriers and pass on the necessary information
- Preparing and checking transport documents
- Dealing with customers and suppliers by telephone and email
- Translating information from the purchasing department into a practical logistics solution
- Helping to manage reception duties and providing general administrative support where required
- Contributing ideas on how certain processes can be made more efficient or more automated
Profile
Our client in the Roeselare area is looking for Someone who likes to contribute ideas, takes the initiative and is flexible enough to step in when needed. They also think it’s really important to get on well with their current colleagues!
Who are you?
- You are interested in logistics, transport and administration
- You speak Dutch, French and/or German fluently. You don’t need to speak these languages perfectly, but above all you must be confident enough to
- You enjoy working in a dynamic working environment
- You’re flexible and help your colleagues whenever necessary
- You are confident about contacting customers and hauliers by telephone
- You’re good at setting priorities when things get busy
- You are someone who enjoys working, can cope with a direct approach, isn’t afraid to speak your mind, and at the same time can handle a healthy dose of pushback
Experience in logistics, transport, planning or administration is an advantage, but the right attitude is just as important.
Organisation
Our client is a growing family-run business in the Roeselare area, specialising in bedding and roughage for animals, such as straw, hay and flax. Customers across Europe are supplied from Rumbeke: from stables and pet shops to large retail groups.
The team consists of a close-knit group of people who are keen to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. No rigid silo mentality – instead, working together to ensure the job gets done.
