Maintenance manager

Function

As Head of Technical Services, you play a key role in ensuring that the company’s infrastructure and machinery operate at their best. You act as a vital link between production, engineering, suppliers and the operations team. You ensure reliable technical operations, maintain a strong focus on preventive maintenance and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Together with your team, you actively contribute to the organisation’s continued growth and efficiency.

As part of your day-to-day role, you will manage a team comprising 8 technicians, 2 technical assistants, a work planner, a project manager and an automation engineer.

In addition, you will be responsible for:

• To carry out all technical work safely, to a high standard, efficiently and accurately, with the aim of minimising technical faults.
• The management of the entire fleet of machinery and the building infrastructure. Thanks to your focus on preventive maintenance, the installations remain in optimal condition and production can operate at maximum efficiency.
• Actively managing the technical department’s costs and investment budget. Together with the Operations Director, you will set priorities and identify investments that contribute to the company’s continued growth.
• Analysing technical downtime and developing structural improvements. You set the right priorities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and enhanced operational reliability.
• Supporting the organisation’s growth by further developing its machinery in line with new innovations. To this end, you will work closely with suppliers and technical partners.
• Ensuring sustainability targets are met by monitoring energy and water consumption and optimising them where possible, including ensuring the efficient operation of the water treatment plant.
• Coaching, guiding and developing your team, with a focus on clear communication, collaboration and team spirit.

You will be part of the core Operations team, take an active part in the weekly meetings and report directly to the Operations Director.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a candidate who fits the following profile:

• You hold a degree in Industrial Engineering (Electromechanics) or have equivalent experience.
• You are a strong people manager with at least 5 years’ experience in leading a technical team.
• You have a broad range of technical knowledge and feel at home in an environment involving complex systems and automation.
• Knowledge of TPM and continuous improvement techniques is a significant asset.
• You thrive in a dynamic production environment where the ability to adapt quickly and a hands-on approach are essential.
• You have strong administrative skills and are proficient in using standard MS Office applications.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch and English.
