Mechanical Design Engineer Graduate Programme

Function

During this Graduate Programme – Service Engineer to Mechanical Design Engineer – you will have the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of all aspects of machinery and technology. Over the first two years, you will gain international practical experience as a Service Engineer. You will then apply this knowledge in a challenging design role within the engineering team.

Phase 1: Service Engineer (first ±2 years – approximately 80% of international travel)

As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Installation and commissioning of machinery at customer sites worldwide
• Planning and coordinating installations in consultation with the client
• Carrying out maintenance and resolving technical faults on site
• Testing and optimising machinery during the commissioning phase
• Reporting on work carried out and providing technical feedback to the engineering department
• To build up a thorough understanding of the machines, components, applications and customer processes
• Approximately 80% of international travel during the first two years

Stage 2: Mechanical Design Engineer (following the Graduate Programme)

Upon successfully completing the training programme, you will progress to the role of Mechanical Design Engineer.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Design and development of innovative machinery, from concept to production
• Development of mechanical designs and technical solutions
• Contributing to engineering, prototyping, testing and validation
• Taking quality, cost and project planning into account
• Collaborating with suppliers, production and other engineering teams
• Actively contributing ideas on product improvements and new machine designs
• On average, approximately 10% of international travel for project follow-up or technical support

Profile

For this Graduate Programme – Service Engineer to Mechanical Design Engineer – we are looking for an engineer who is keen to learn and has a passion for mechanical engineering and technology. You have a hands-on approach, enjoy working as part of a team and are looking forward to gaining practical experience before progressing to a design role.

As a Graduate Programme participant – from Service Engineer to Mechanical Design Engineer – you will have:

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering
• A keen technical interest in mechanical engineering and mechanical design
• A hands-on approach and a practical mindset
• A keen to learn and proactive attitude
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel internationally for approximately 80% during the first two years
• Good knowledge of English
