Project Engineer, HVAC & Smoke and Heat Extraction

Function

As an Electromechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical implementation of projects that have been sold, from the preparatory phase right through to final handover. You will work closely with the project manager and act as a key technical link between the client, suppliers and the implementation team.

• You will develop technical solutions for smoke and heat extraction systems and related installations

• You will incorporate the technical solution into existing architectural plans using AutoCAD

• You analyse plans and translate them into a technically feasible design

• You request quotes from suppliers and compare tenders for the purchase of materials

• You will regularly liaise with the project manager and the planning team regarding the progress of your projects

• You will take part in internal project meetings and proactively contribute ideas on technical solutions

• You will liaise with clients, suppliers and site managers on technical matters

• You will oversee the technical implementation of your projects right through to completion

Profile

For this role as an Electromechanical Project Engineer, we are primarily looking for someone with a broad technical interest who enjoys drawing and wishes to gain a deeper understanding of building services engineering. Experience with smoke and heat extraction systems would be an advantage, but is by no means a requirement.

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electromechanics or another relevant technical qualification

• You have knowledge of CAD programmes, gained through your education or experience, and enjoy working on technical drawings

• Experience is not essential, which means the role is also open to school leavers

• You have a broad interest in electromechanics and technical installations

• You work in an analytical, meticulous and structured manner

• You are customer-focused and communicate effectively with the various parties involved

• You enjoy working alongside a project manager, but are able to organise your own tasks independently

• Knowledge of Dutch is essential

• Knowledge of AutoCAD 3D or Revit is a major asset

• Experience with smoke and heat extraction, ventilation or other building services is an advantage

• Knowledge of French would be an advantage

Organisation

You will be joining an established engineering firm in the Melle area that specialises in solutions for natural lighting, ventilation and smoke and heat extraction in buildings. The company carries out turnkey projects for industrial and commercial buildings, amongst others, and manages these projects from the technical engineering stage through to installation and handover.

The organisation has around 180 employees and combines the structure of a larger company with an informal working atmosphere. Within the engineering and project team, there is a strong focus on collaboration, technical development and autonomy.
