Shipping coordinator

Function

Are you a talented organiser with a passion for logistics and shipping? We are looking for a shipping and logistics coordinator for an independent shipping agency operating in the ports of Antwerp, Zeebrugge and North Sea Port.

Your responsibilities

• Co-ordinating import, export and cross-trade shipments.
• Organising transport by sea, road, rail and inland waterways.
• Tracking consignments from booking to delivery.
• Preparing and checking shipping documents (including Bills of Lading).
• Co-ordinating with customers, shipping lines, terminals, hauliers and customs partners.
• Supporting ship calls, port operations and project cargo.
• Proactively resolving operational challenges and keeping customers informed about the status of their consignments.

Profile

Your profile

• A bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, maritime studies or equivalent through experience.
• Experience in shipping, freight forwarding or logistics would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Incoterms, transport documentation and customs procedures.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French and/or German would be an advantage.
• You are meticulous, a good communicator, customer-focused and able to keep a cool head in a fast-paced environment.
