Site Manager

Function

Your duties will include:

• Day-to-day site management and practical coordination of steel construction projects.
• Managing between 5 and 10 subcontractors on larger construction sites.
• Monitoring planning, implementation, materials and progress on site.
• Consult with the quantity surveyor and draughtsman regarding quotations, construction details and the schedule.
• Managing budgets and preparing statements of accounts.
• Maintaining contact with regular suppliers, subcontractors and customers.
• Ensuring quality, safety and clear communication on site.
• Reporting on the current situation and responding swiftly to any changes or problems.

Profile

Your profile:

• Ideally, you will have between 0 and 3 years’ initial experience in the construction sector or in a similar environment.
• You have a background in construction or relevant practical knowledge of building sites and project delivery.
• Experience in steel structures is an asset, but not a requirement.
• You can manage several tasks at once and maintain a clear overview in a dynamic working environment.
• You have strong communication skills and are confident about contacting suppliers, subcontractors and customers by telephone.
• You are able to plan, organise and manage people in a clear and respectful manner.
• You will carry out budget monitoring, planning and administrative tasks, such as progress reports, with great attention to detail.
• You don’t have a 9-to-5 mindset and are willing to start early and round off the day in a focused manner.
• Your commitment and dedication are for the long term.

Organisation

Our client is a stable and growing company that has specialised in steel structures for around 30 years. The company undertakes a wide range of projects, from design and preparation through to production, assembly and on-site supervision.
