Technical Draughtsman

Function

We are looking for a Technical Draughtsman for a family-run SME in Waasmunster to help with the technical development and detailing of bespoke prefabricated structures for infrastructure projects. You will be involved from design through to production in creating solutions that are technically sound, feasible to manufacture and suited to the practical realities of the construction site.

In this role, you will translate calculations, designs and technical specifications into clear 2D and 3D drawings. You will work closely with the structural engineer, quantity surveyor, project management and production teams to ensure that every project is completed correctly and on time. Thanks to your attention to detail and technical insight, you’ll make a direct contribution to the quality of the end products.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Elaborating 3D models and technical drawings of bespoke prefabricated structures.
• Working with Autodesk Inventor for modelling and detailing structures and components.
• Translating stability calculations and design concepts into workable structures.
• Preparation of production, detailed and assembly drawings.
• Detailed design of reinforcement, connections, fixings, built-in components and other technical details.
• Checking dimensions, tolerances and connections.
• Take into account production, transport, assembly and on-site implementation.
• Drawing up parts lists and technical specifications for production and procurement.
• Implementing changes during the project and keeping the files up to date.
• Consult with the structural engineer and project management team regarding technical solutions.
• Working in partnership with production to ensure manufacturability and practical feasibility.
• Provide support with technical queries during production and assembly where necessary.

Profile

You are a practical, hands-on technical draughtsman who enjoys working with precision and is interested in the entire process, from design to completion. For this role, we are looking for someone with a technical background and a keen desire to learn, who will fit into an environment where bespoke solutions and technical quality are paramount.

We would prefer candidates who:

• A technical qualification, for example in mechanical design, civil engineering, electromechanics or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
• A good knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and experience with 3D modelling.
• Experience in producing technical detail and production drawings.
• Good technical and spatial awareness.
• Experience with bespoke structures, whether in steel, concrete or prefabricated elements, is a major asset.
• Knowledge of technical drawing standards and general principles of construction.
• A precise, structured and quality-focused approach to work.
• The ability to check drawings and follow up on files independently.
• An interest in production, implementation and practical feasibility.
• A communicative approach that enables you to collaborate smoothly with engineering, costing, production and project management.
