Technical Commercial Assistant

Function

As a Technical Sales Assistant, you will convert technical enquiries into accurate cost estimates and quotations. You will work closely with clients, project managers and the technical team on projects within the industrial, retail and construction sectors. You will oversee technical files from enquiry through to quotation and ensure an accurate and feasible assessment of each project.

• Calculating electrical engineering projects from start to finish;
• analysing enquiries and turning them into clear quotations;
• maintain daily contact with customers and follow up on technical enquiries;
• consult with project leaders on technical and commercial possibilities;
• contributing ideas for solutions within the specified timeframes and budgets;
• provide support during contractual discussions and negotiations;
• to visit a construction site from time to time to assess the situation on the ground;
• monitor several cases at the same time and keep track of deadlines.

Profile

You have a technical background in electricity or electrical engineering and combine technical insight with commercial acumen. Experience in cost estimation, panel building or electrical engineering projects would be an advantage.

• Technical qualification in electricity or electrical engineering;
• you can read and interpret electrical diagrams;
• Experience in cost estimation, sign-making or technical projects is an advantage;
• strong with figures, analytical and meticulous;
• well-organised and good at meeting deadlines;
• proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook;
• professional and customer-focused in communication;
• a good knowledge of Dutch and a basic knowledge of French and English;
• a Category B driving licence and a willingness to travel to construction sites in Flanders;

Organisation

Our client is an industrial installer of electrical installations and also have their own sign building department. Their activities spread all over Flanders. Their customers mainly operate in industry and retail. Today, they have about 60 employees. Due to growth, they are actively looking for an electrical designer to strengthen the design team for the sign building department.

Offer

You will be joining a stable and growing technical SME with around 60 employees, strong expertise in electrical installations and its own panel-building department. You will be working in a collegial environment where technical knowledge and collaboration are key.

• a permanent contract of indefinite duration;
• salary of up to €4,500 gross, depending on experience and profile;
