Technical Support Engineer
Function
- You are the technical point of contact for customers with queries or problems.
- You analyse technical faults and carry out a targeted search for a solution.
- You will assist customers over the phone in resolving technical issues.
- If a problem cannot be resolved remotely, you should book a technician and ensure it is followed up properly.
- You will support technicians during on-site call-outs and actively contribute ideas for possible solutions.
- You provide technicians with technical advice when they encounter a challenge on site or at a customer’s premises.
- You will also support sales staff when dealing with customers where technical expertise is required.
- You use your knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics and electricity to diagnose problems accurately.
- You ensure clear communication between customers, technicians, sales staff and internal colleagues.
- You set the right priorities when several questions or problems come in at the same time.
- You remain calm and solution-focused when the pressure is on or when several matters require your attention at once.
- You will follow up on support requests and technical queries until a solution has been found.
- Over time, you will build up a broad knowledge of the technical systems, machinery and applications within the organisation.
Profile
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in electromechanics or a comparable technical qualification.
- You have relevant work experience in a technical environment; some initial professional experience is required.
- You have a strong technical grounding in mechanics, hydraulics and electrical engineering.
- You can read and interpret circuit diagrams.
- You have an analytical mind and find it energising to get to the root cause of technical problems.
- You have excellent communication skills and are able to explain technical information clearly to customers and technicians.
- You can also deal with direct or firm communication when an intervention with a client does not go according to plan.
- You speak Dutch well and have a basic knowledge of French.
- You are keen to further develop your technical French vocabulary.
- You are able to cope well with stress and can handle various stimuli and a wide range of questions coming at you all at once.
- You can quickly assess what is urgent and know how to set the right priorities.
- You work independently, but at the same time you’re a real team player.
- You’re curious, you ask questions and, above all, you’re keen to get stuck in and learn new things.
- You are solution-oriented and do not give up easily when a technical problem proves to be complex.
