Transport planner

Function

As transport planner You will be responsible for the following tasks:

• You will be responsible for the day-to-day and optimal planning of the transport fleet (Benelux and France), taking into account customers, drivers, vehicles, load capacity and delivery deadlines;
• You ensure the efficient use of available resources and are constantly looking for ways to optimise journeys and capacity;
• You will monitor the schedule closely and make adjustments where necessary to minimise delays, capacity issues and unnecessary empty kilometres;
• You anticipate potential bottlenecks and make timely decisions to ensure the continuity of transport;
• You will work closely with customer service, drivers, the warehouse and dispatch to ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly;
• You ensure that all parties involved have the correct information in good time and know exactly what is expected of them;
• You analyse operational performance and monitor relevant KPIs;
• You actively contribute ideas on process improvements and seek practical solutions to further enhance the efficiency and quality of our services.

Profile

Are you the experienced transport planner what we are looking for?

• You have relevant experience in transport, logistics or the supply chain and understand the dynamics of the sector;
• You have strong analytical skills and can effortlessly set the right priorities;
• You have a customer- and business-focused mindset, whilst always taking into account the need for efficient and feasible operational processes;
• Knowledge of the current driving and rest periods and transport regulations is a real asset;
• You communicate fluently in Dutch. A good knowledge of French and English is an added bonus;
• You are someone who likes to think ahead, take the initiative and actively seek ways to make processes run more efficiently;
• You are flexible and do not have a 9 to 5 mentality.

Organisation

Our client is a professional and growing player in the transport and logistics sector, specialising in temperature-controlled logistics. The company assists clients with the transport, storage and distribution of, amongst other things, chilled and frozen goods. It provides these services to clients in the Benelux and northern France.
