Transport planner

Function

As a planner at our client, you will be responsible for the efficient organisation of national transport and transport within the port of Antwerp. You maintain the daily planning of drivers and ensure the processing and administrative follow-up of transport documents in the transport system. In addition, you take a central role for various logistics operations and contribute to projects concerning transport optimisation.

Main responsibilities:

• Daily scheduling of drivers for national and port transport.
• Accepting and processing transport orders.
• Managing drivers and overseeing rolling stock.
• Customer and transport follow-up.
• Entering and managing work orders and transport quotations.
• Monitor cleanliness of trucks and materials.
• Administration of transport and customs documents.

Profile

We are looking for a planner with the following qualities:

• Knowledge of the Port of Antwerp, including terminals and depots.
• Logistical knowledge and organisational skills.
• Experience with transport and customs documents is a plus.
• Communication skills to interact with customers, drivers and colleagues.
• Minimum A2/Higher Secondary Diploma, or equivalent through experience.
• Language knowledge: Dutch, English and French (basic).
• Proactive attitude and solution-oriented.

Organisation

Our client specialises in the storage and handling of bulk cargo and general cargo. Together with their sister company, they can offer a full logistics package. The various services include freight forwarding, stowage, customs formalities, warehousing, distribution and agency.

They do all this from several branches with headquarters in the heart of the port of Antwerp.
