Transport planner

Function

For the Transport Planner vacancy at our client’s company, you will be responsible for the following range of duties:

• Together with your colleague, you will be responsible for the planning and dispatching of around 40 drivers for the refrigerated transport of goods including meat, fruit and vegetables
• In consultation with the managers, you will establish an efficient working method for yourself and your colleagues and come up with the necessary suggestions for improvement
• You will be responsible for preparing the necessary transport documents and ensuring proper communication with the drivers
• You and the managers and your colleagues take turns taking the phone home in case an urgent call comes in
• You should inform the managers in good time if you feel there are any additional requirements to support growth or ensure the smooth running of current operations
• You will work during daytime hours, which can be agreed in consultation with the managers and your immediate colleagues

Profile

For the Transport Planner vacancy at our client’s company, you should recognise yourself in the following competencies:

• You have already had your first positive experience as a Transport Planner, where you were responsible for short-term planning
• You can express yourself professionally in Dutch and English
• You’re keen to get stuck into a project that could do with a lot of improvements
• You have strong analytical and communication skills
• You are someone who proactively contributes ideas on what could be improved

Our client is an SME specialising in the transport and storage of, amongst other things, meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. They aim to achieve steady growth over the coming years and are looking for the right people to help them achieve this. They currently employ around 40 drivers and mainly deliver to Belgium and the Netherlands.
