Transport Planner, Italy

Function

As Transport planner You will be responsible for organising, coordinating and monitoring day-to-day transport operations within an international environment. You will ensure that everything runs to plan and take proactive action when the schedule needs to be adjusted unexpectedly.

Some of your tasks:

• You will be responsible for the day-to-day planning and coordination of transport orders
• You will ensure the efficient deployment of drivers, vehicles and transport resources
• You will liaise with drivers, transport partners, terminals and internal departments
• You actively monitor shipments and take appropriate action in the event of delays, changes or problems
• You quickly look for practical solutions when plans change
• You will ensure the correct administrative processing and follow-up of transport files
• You will help to ensure a smooth service and clear communication between all parties involved

Profile

Who are we looking for?

• Preferably has some initial experience in logistics, transport or an operational environment
• Works in a precise and structured manner and is able to set priorities efficiently
• Himself can express themselves fluently in Italian and English. Knowledge of other languages is a bonus
• Is communicative and sociable, and enjoys working with various parties
• Is resilient under pressure and flexible, and maintains a clear overview even in unexpected situations
• Takes a proactive approach and is keen to find practical solutions
• Demonstrates a healthy sense of responsibility and initiative

You will join a a logistics company operating internationally with several hundred staff and operations spread across various European countries.

The organisation combines various logistics activities, including storage, transport and distribution. With a large warehouse capacity and an extensive transport department, the company offers a wide range of services to international customers.

At the Belgian branch, the staff work for, amongst others, major international players in sectors such as automotive, retail, energy and maritime services. An environment, then, where no two days are ever the same!
