Workshop Coordinator

Function

As Workshop Coordinator You will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation and management of the workshop within a technical production environment.

You will ensure that planning, quality, safety and efficiency are properly coordinated, so that the workshop runs smoothly and projects are completed on time and to the required standard.

You’ll be closely involved with the technical side of things and will work closely with technicians, production staff and other internal stakeholders.

In this role, you will combine operational leadership with a strong technical and organisational focus.

Your responsibilities:

• Managing, supervising and motivating a team of technicians on a daily basis.
• Drawing up, monitoring and adjusting the workshop schedule.
• Monitoring the quality of work carried out and completed files.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, procedures and working arrangements.
• Act as the first point of contact for technical queries within the workshop.
• Identifying areas for improvement and actively contributing ideas on how to optimise processes.
• Monitoring work orders, administrative files and the progress of the work.
• Ensuring order, tidiness and a safe and well-organised working environment.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure efficient and customer-focused operations.

You maintain a visible presence on the shop floor, keep track of everything and ensure structure, continuity and the professional execution of day-to-day activities.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an experienced and steadfast professional with a strong technical background and the maturity required to manage a workshop. Ideally, you will have a bachelor’s degree-level education and at least five years’ relevant experience within the automotive sector or a similar technical environment.

Your profile:

• At least 5 years’ relevant experience in a technical or automotive environment.
• Experience in leading, coaching or supervising a team.
• Good technical knowledge of vehicles, mechanics and workshop processes.
• Strong organisational skills and a structured approach to work.
• Strong administrative skills, meticulous and experienced in managing work orders and files.
• Fluent communication in Dutch; good knowledge of English.
• Knowledge of French is a plus.
• Practical, solution-oriented and able to cope with stress.
• Team-oriented, a good communicator and able to clearly manage priorities.
• Flexible and willing to work with the organisation to find solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree level; a degree is an asset, but not an absolute requirement.
