Assistant planner

Function

As Assistant Planner, Bruges region You’ll be the transport planners’ right-hand person. Together, you’ll ensure that the daily schedule smooth, accurate and efficient is coming to an end. An ideal role for getting to know the world of transport from the inside and gaining experience step by step.

Your duties will include:

• You will support the various transport planners within groupage, dry bulk, liquid and general cargo.
• Once the schedule has been approved, you should provide the transport orders by referring them to the right transport partners.
• You provide drivers with all the information they need to carry out their transport assignment to carry out correctly and efficiently.
• You will arrange daily shipments and monitor them closely. This includes, for example, retrieving data and identifying delays.
• You take care of the administrative tracking of loading and unloading operations, such as hours, weights, seal numbers and load-securing equipment.
• You log complaints in the system and ensure that a proper follow-up.
• In short: you ensure that the planners can count on strong support and that the paperwork for every consignment is in order.

Profile

You don’t need to be a seasoned logistics expert for this role. The right attitude and a keen desire to learn are just as important as experience. Do you recognise yourself in this?

• You have already an initial experience in administration behind us.
• Experience within the logistics sector? A nice bonus, but certainly not a must.
• You are motivated, keen to learn and positive.
• You speak fluently Dutch and English and also have a basic knowledge of French.
• You’re confident using a computer and common software programmes.
• You are flexible and able to work in a rotating timetable between 7.00 am and 6.00 pm, depending on your personal circumstances.
• You have a logical reasoning and loves working out puzzles until everything fits together.
• No experience in transport planning? No problem. If you’ve got the drive, our client will be happy to teach you the tricks of the trade.
