Claims Manager
Function
As a claims handler, you will manage claims from start to finish. You will:
- registers new claims and analyses the situation;
- gathers the necessary information and documents;
- maintains contact with clients, insurers and other relevant parties;
- closely monitors the further processing of cases;
- monitors deadlines and ensures that cases are not left unresolved;
- communicates clearly with clients about the status of their case;
- helps to find the right solution when a case becomes more complex;
- ensures accurate administrative processing.
You will be given your own responsibilities within the team, but you will, of course, not be left to your own devices. Colleagues share their knowledge and consult with one another whenever a case requires it.
Profile
For this role, we are looking for someone who already has relevant experience and is keen to work independently.
- You have experience in insurance and/or claims management.
- A legal background is certainly an asset, for example if you have experience with cases where interpretation and argumentation are important.
- You work with precision and keep track of various cases.
- You are not afraid to make decisions and take responsibility.
- You communicate clearly and effectively with customers and insurers.
- You have a practical outlook and prefer to look for a solution rather than a problem.
- You are customer-focused and understand that a claim is often a significant moment for a customer.
- You are positive, enterprising and share the West Flemish ‘just get on with it’ attitude.
Organisation
You will be joining a family-run insurance firm that is now being run by the fourth generation. Based in Diksmuide, the firm continues to build a strong regional presence, with additional branches in Houthulst, Veurne and Poperinge.
The team consists of experienced insurance specialists who support one another and share their knowledge. We do not use individual KPIs. The approach is simple: to provide customers with excellent service and ensure they are happy to remain with the firm.
