Dispatcher

Function

As dispatcher You will be responsible for the following tasks:

• You will source, plan and coordinate return shipments;
• You negotiate rates and terms of carriage;
• You will liaise with customers, prospective clients, freight forwarders and transport partners;
• You will optimise transport planning, focusing on minimising empty mileage;
• Together with your colleagues, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day monitoring of the schedule.

Profile

Are you the logistics expert? dispatcher what we are looking for?

• You hold a bachelor’s degree or have at least two years’ experience in a similar role;
• You have a good knowledge of the national and international road network;
• You express yourself fluently in Dutch, French and English;
• You are proactive, seeing problems as a challenge;
• You are customer-oriented and communicate fluently;
• You have a good knowledge of MS-Office and knowledge of TMS is a plus.

Our client is a medium-sized Belgian transport and logistics company specialising in groupage transport to and from France and the UK. With their own cross-dock facility in Erpe-Mere and soon a new site in Kruisem, they provide efficient transport solutions. Besides groupage, they also offer full trailer transport and value added warehousing.

The company has a modern, sustainable fleet of 100 trucks and 150 trailers. Their 20,000 m² warehouse is equipped with the latest technologies and suitable for the food and beverage industry, among others. Service, teamwork, respect and customer focus are key.
