HVAC project manager

Function

As an HVAC Project Manager, you will coordinate new-build and refurbishment projects in the industrial sector, from approval right through to final handover. In doing so, you will monitor the schedule, budget, quality and safety, and ensure that all parties involved remain aligned.

• You will manage industrial projects relating to ventilation and cooling with a project value of up to €3 million

• You will be responsible for the coordination, financial monitoring and completion of your projects

• You draw up the project schedule and monitor deadlines, budgets and available resources

• You are the main point of contact for the client and all other parties involved

• You will organise and chair project and site meetings and closely monitor progress

• You discuss technical issues and work with the relevant parties to find suitable solutions

• You will manage your own fitters and technicians and coordinate any subcontractors

• You will work closely with the engineering and planning teams on the technical preparation and implementation

• You monitor the quality of the work carried out

• You ensure that the applicable safety regulations are followed on site

• You will report on the progress and results of your projects to the relevant manager within operations

Profile

For the role of HVAC Project Manager, we are looking for someone who can manage technical projects independently whilst maintaining an overview of the various stakeholders, budgets and deadlines. You do not necessarily need to come from exactly the same sector, but experience of project management within an industrial or technical environment is important.

• You have a higher education qualification, preferably in a technical field

• You have relevant experience in project management within an industrial or technical environment

• You are familiar with budget monitoring, planning and resource management

• You can coordinate multiple parties and disciplines within a project

• You maintain a clear overview of complex projects and know how to set the right priorities

• You have strong communication skills and are able to engage clients, internal teams and subcontractors in the project

• You have a customer-focused, pragmatic and solution-oriented approach

• You are not afraid to make decisions, whilst taking quality, efficiency and profitability into account

• Knowledge of Dutch is essential

• You must be able to travel to the head office in the Melle area at least once a week

• Experience with HVAC, ventilation, refrigeration or other technical installations is a strong asset

• Knowledge of English and/or French would be an advantage

Organisation

You will be joining an established engineering firm that delivers comprehensive solutions for large buildings and industrial environments. Its activities include, amongst other things, ventilation, air conditioning, smoke and heat extraction, fire detection and security systems.

The company handles the entire process for technical solutions: from design and engineering to installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance. Projects are carried out in a range of settings, including production facilities, large commercial buildings, hospitals, residential care homes and department stores.

In Belgium, the organisation has around 160 employees. Its head office is located in the Melle area, whilst the HVAC Project Manager’s projects are spread across Flanders.
