Level 2 Technical Prevention Adviser

Function

As a Level 2 Prevention Adviser, you will be part of the SHEQ department and act as a key point of contact for all matters relating to safety, wellbeing and the environment. Not only will you ensure compliance with regulations, but you will also work alongside your colleagues to ensure that safety is genuinely embedded within the production environment.

As a Level 2 Prevention Adviser, your responsibilities include:

• Compliance with legislation relating to welfare, safety and the environment.
• Advising managers within various production departments.
• Implementing and monitoring relevant health and safety regulations.
• Ensuring that procedures and legal obligations are properly complied with.
• Drawing up and monitoring the annual action plan and the overall prevention plan.
• Preparing the necessary statutory reports and records.
• Maintaining contact with inspection bodies, the occupational health service and the external health and safety service.
• The preparation and follow-up of reports on external and internal safety activities.
• Providing support in the preparation and implementation of risk analyses.
• Coaching and raising awareness amongst staff and managers about working safely.
• Promoting safety awareness within the production environment.
• Working together with managers, staff and other health and safety representatives within the organisation.
• Maintaining and further developing your professional knowledge through training courses and seminars.

Profile

For this role as a Level 2 Prevention Adviser, we are looking for someone who combines technical knowledge with practical experience in health and safety and the environment. Not only are you well-versed in regulations and procedures, but you also know how to engage staff in health and safety policy in an approachable and pragmatic manner.

As a Level 2 Prevention Adviser, you will recognise yourself in the following profile:

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field.
• You hold a Level 2 Health and Safety Advisor certificate.
• You have experience in health, safety and environmental duties.
• You have experience with management systems such as VCA**, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001.
• You have an interest in, or experience of, a manufacturing or technical environment.
• You are approachable and enjoy interacting with staff at various levels within an organisation.
• You have good coaching skills and know how to get people on board with a safety message.
• You are enterprising and take a pragmatic, solution-focused approach to your work.
• You can work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Dutch is an absolute must for this role.
• You are also able to express yourself fluently in French and English.
• You have a driving licence B.
• You are willing to work mainly from the offices in Ghent and Hamme.
