Order Entry Clerk
Function
For our client in Lummen we are looking for a Order Entry Clerk. In this role, you’ll be the vital link between the customer, planning and operations. You’ll ensure that all transport orders are entered into the system correctly, in full and on time, so that chilled and temperature-sensitive goods reach their destination without a hitch. You’ll work closely with colleagues in customer service, transport and operations, whilst monitoring the quality of the data as if it were a VIP list.
Your day is nicely varied and centres on precision, communication and pace:
- You will carefully collect and record customer details and transport orders in the information system.
- You check incoming documents and compare them with the data entered when vehicles arrive.
- You correct minor errors, flag up any discrepancies and inform the relevant colleagues straight away.
- You ensure that all the necessary documents are available to ensure the smooth running of transport operations.
- You ensure the accuracy of transport documents and compliance with internal procedures.
- You’ll keep on top of things, even when things on the shop floor are moving just a little bit faster than the coffee machine.
You’ll be working in an environment where quality, speed and teamwork go hand in hand. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to become a key player in a logistics organisation that moves thousands of products safely and efficiently every day.
Profile
We’re not looking for a superhero to fill the Order Entry Clerk role for our client in Lummen, but rather someone with a keen eye, a knack for digital tasks and a healthy sense of responsibility. The role is well suited to candidates with 0 to 3 years’ experience who are keen to develop their careers in a logistics and administrative environment.
What you bring:
- You work with attention to detail and respect procedures and deadlines.
- You are customer-focused and communicate clearly with various internal departments.
- You are comfortable using IT tools and the MS Office suite.
- You are flexible regarding working hours and willing to work varying shifts of 9am–5pm, 11.00–19.00 and 12 noon–8 pm.
- You have a team spirit, a sense of responsibility and are able to adapt easily when the schedule requires it.
- You are able to analyse information effectively, make corrections and process it accurately in an administrative context.
Experience in logistics or order entry is an advantage, but certainly not essential. Motivation, a willingness to learn and a hands-on approach often make all the difference in this role.
