Project Engineer

Function

As Project Engineer You will play a crucial role in the production processes at this metalworking company. You will work as part of a team of three and oversee projects from start to finish.

• From cost calculations and translating customer drawings into production-ready designs, to work planning, production monitoring and delivery.
• You draw up accurate cost estimates and seek out the most efficient and high-quality solution, taking into account the choice of materials, production methods and available machinery.
• You will act as the technical point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders.
• You’ll be working alongside the sales, production, quality control and warehouse teams.
• Continuous improvement is in your DNA. You actively contribute ideas on how to optimise and modernise processes and explore ways to work more efficiently, quickly and to a higher standard, including through automation, robotisation, etc.
• You feel at home in a production environment and are regularly present on the shop floor to monitor ongoing projects, carry out checks and make adjustments where necessary.

Profile

We are looking for a motivated and driven Project Engineer who meets the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanics or Design and Manufacturing Technology.
• A basic knowledge of technical drawing software, preferably SolidWorks.
• An interest in production techniques and processes.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• A hands-on approach with an eye for detail.
• An interest in production automation and knowledge of PLCs would be an advantage.

Organisation

Our client is a metalworking manufacturing company (subcontractor) that produces bespoke components from tubes and sheet steel. Their processes include laser cutting, bending, welding and assembly. Their components are used in sectors such as lorries, buses, agricultural machinery and other industrial applications. Virtually everything is carried out in-house, from engineering to the finished product.
